Kelp Forest Cylindraphone

$700.00

The Cylindraphone is what I call it. It is an Idiophone:( an instrument the whole of which vibrates to produce a sound when struck, shaken, or scraped, such as a bell, gong, or rattle.)

it is made from an old propane tank, the kind you use on your grill. the top and bottom are welded together, and tongues of various lengths and widths are cut into the upper side. it is laboriously tuned, and when its done just right, it is AWESOME! Believe me, each of my Cylindraphones are ONE OF A KIND. You won’t find another like it anywhere!

This one, I based the design on a Kelp Frond theme. The coloring come from Careful attention to the tempering of the mettle. Carbon Steel when heated produces the mots beautiful colors. To preserve the color I have epoxy coated this on to resist rusting. and this one is the one in the video clip!
